Use Your Inside Voice

I don’t have the answers…

I can’t tell you what job to take, which partner to choose, where to live, how to manage your money, or anything else.

But YOU can.

My job as your coach is not to answer those questions for you. It’s to help you answer them for yourself.

There’s a voice of truth, knowledge, and wisdom inside you.

I call it your “Inside Voice.”

And as your coach, it’s my goal and profound honor to guide women like you back to it.

Intuition…

Source…

God…

Universe…

Soul…

These are all words for that innate knowing that lives within us and operates from our highest good.

Here’s the thing about your Inside Voice…

It’s usually quieter and less popular than the noise in your external landscape.

Obligations, expectations, and all the “shoulds” that run your day, week, and life drown out the whispers of ease that your body and mind long for.

That work proposal, this child’s activities, that event, this relationship – all the things we’re taught to believe we must do as a “good” wife, mother, friend, and daughter.

If it’s supposed to be so good, why is it so draining?

That little something deep down inside is stirring. Perhaps it’s discontent, resentment, friction. That stirring is your inner GPS telling you you’re off course. She cannot only tell you when you’re off course, but she also holds the map to your correct route – the route of excitement, meaning, and purpose.

When we follow our Inside Voice…

A sweetness, certainty, and peace take hold when she guides us.

And there’s struggle and strife when we don’t.

Burnout, frustration, resentment, exhaustion, and the like are symptoms resulting from losing touch with our Inside Voice.

When we ignore her reminders to “come back home,” the calling and consequences get louder and more severe emotionally and physically.

I believe in an “embodied practice.”

So many hidden messages live in your body, yet we spend so much time analyzing, strategizing, coordinating, and more in our head. Activities like yoga, walking, and breath work are the embodied practices that bring you out of your head and back into your body so that you can clearly discern what it’s telling you.

By listening to our bodies, we can quiet the external noise and tap into the wisdom we hold inside. Whether through simple breathing techniques, guided meditations, or yoga poses, connecting to the power and wisdom of one’s physical body is a direct link to our mental and emotional wellness.

The link between the body and the mind in our mental and emotional wellness has been a cornerstone of my development.

Once we connect to our Inside Voice…

She will guide us. Her answers will never lead us astray from the simplest to the most complex issues.

Sometimes your inside voice is subtle, but you know her when you hear her. Amidst the busyness, exhaustion, and fear, she is where you feel your body soften.

Sometimes, she says things as simple as “Pause” or “Rest” or more complex such as “reach out to this person.” You know when to heed her call because your whole body immediately softens, and you gain the clarity you’ve been missing.

This is where the magic begins…

Your Inside Voice is the seat of your wisdom and gifts. Mine is to help you connect with her.
